Here, the acid etching has been completed. Notice how the surface of the
tub has a pale, dull finish. This is a result of the acid etch increasing
the porosity of the surface to ensure a proper bond of the coating. Next, after the tub has been
wet sanded and completely dried, masking paper is applied around the perimeter
of the tub. Once the masking is finished, chip repair and caulking
procedures are performed to complete the preparation process.
